We are Bloodgood Pond and Landscape

The company started as a wholesale nursery in the late 1700’s by James Bloodgood in Flushing (now Queens), NY. Their reputation was built on the Japanese species of ornamental plants including the Bloodgood Japanese Maple, which was patented and continues to be propagated today.

The company was sold to the King and Murray families, then to the Foulke family in 1893. With the onset of urban sprawl and the finite commodity of land on Long Island, the company moved their operations to PA by the 1950’s. Over the years, the stock was sold down and the wholesale operation closed down with the passing of William F. Foulk Sr in 1965. By 1970 Bloodgood became a landscape company and was sold to Albert Edling in 1972.

Paul Edling, Albert’s son, took over in 2010 and continues the long history of Bloodgood. Paul continues to update the company to keep up with the demands of the time.
